Good news to the early adopters of the iPhone4. Apple announced today at their press conference that to battle the huge wave of negative feedback from the antenna debacle, they will give out free phone cases to those that purchase the iPhone4 before Sept 30th. Seems like a logical move since not everybody has had an issue and that a bumper/case pretty much has remedied the problem for those that did. A recal would have been a huge undertaking and definitely would have caused a lot of problems and headaches for the consumers. They did in fact sell almost a million a week. Just imagine what would have been required to pull that off successfully. What about those that already purchased a case? Well you my friends will recieve a refund from Apple. I’m pretty sure that you would have had to purchase your case from the Apple site or at a store to redeem your refund. Not sure how they are going to handle the people that purchased through a third pary location. I guess the only catch is the fact that Apple cannot keep up with manufacturing bumpers at the pace that the iPhone4 is selling. So to counter that they are going offer a selection of cases to choose from. Time will tell, later next week, what those options are.

After a rough first half of the week for Apple, they took action today by unveiling it’s answer to all the criticism. This ladies and gentlemen is Apple’s sure fire fix for the dropped calls and lost signals. Click on the image to enlarge.

Now that you’ve finished the test, did you see the gorilla your first time through? Most people don’t. This was video was put together to prove the findings of psychologists Daniel Simons and Christopher Chabris. Pretty cool stuff.
Things have progressively become more and more turbulent in the media for Apple. First came the unveiling of a huge design flaw in their worshiped iPhone4’s antenna. Then comes the lawsuits over their contracts from customers that feel locked into ATT. Then another lawsuit about the questionable antenna on the phone. Steve Jobs get’s scrutinized by his email response to customers to “Stop holding it that way.”.
Now one of the oldest and respected review companies has just said no to buying the iPHone4. Consumer Reports did some testing with various ATT phones and found that the iPHone4’s reception and drop call rate is so bad that they are telling us not to buy it. They instead suggest us to by the 3Gs.
They question Apples intentions by blaming the problem on ATT’s network and instead take the stance that Apple must provide a fix on their end. Be it a repair or recall, Consumer Reports is saying the problem is in the phone.

Despite the heavy rains and less than inspiring weather, today was an amazing day. I saw my baby move today. Not the little sporatic jerks that I was expecting. I’m talking full on arm and leg movement followed by facial expressions. That little booger was sticking her tongue out and sucking that thumb like a pro. She’s a definite mover and shaker like her old man, the woman administering the sonogram was having a hard time getting a good shot of her. Looked like she was getting ready for So You Think You Can Dance. Either that or she’s not quite ready for the camera just yet, but you know that will change!
My great friend George told me to be ready to have my heart taken away. I’m as ready as one can be before it actually happens on the 20th of Nov. Yes, I know I have my hands full and my work cut out for me, that’s why I went straight to the gun shop after the sonogram… 😉
